Slovak Republic

Starting from January 1, 2009 Slovakia is a member of full standing in the European Union. Reforms in the economic development carried out within the 90s have made Slovakia a stable country with considerably developed economy. The level of inflation in the country has a constant tendency for decrease, while production output both in industry and agriculture tends to grow, whereby living standards have considerably raised since the last decade.   

Requirements

One of the grounds for processing of temporary residence permit is establishment of the company on the territory of the Slovak republic. Whereas, at the same time the applicant should be declared as the Company’s shareholder and official representative. There are no strict requirements for the amount of business activity and minimum level of deduced taxes. It should be stated here that the minimum amount of the Company’s charter capital should be EUR 5 000.  

As soon as the Company is set up, you have the right to apply for the temporary residence permit that initially is issued for a 2-year term and thereafter can be extended. The procedure of temporary residence permit extension represents filing with the police department of documents confirming the Company’s existence in the market, absence of any tax debts and your position of the shareholder and official representative / director of the Company. The residence permit can be extended for 2 (two) years.

While applying for the temporary residence permit you should also provide medical certificates, confirmation of solvency (extract from the Slovak bank account with at least EUR 11 111,40 per person for the first year of residence), lease agreement for the real estate in the Slovak republic, as well as a number of other documents. All the documents are to be filed with the Diplomatic post of the Slovak republic in your current place of residence, and in 3 (three) months the Diplomatic post shall notify you on the results of the application processing. Upon receipt of the temporary residence permit, You have the right for visa-free travel to Slovakia and within 180 days upon the issue you should actually go to Slovakia. In such a case, within 3 (three) days upon arrival you are obliged to apply to the police department for registration.       

In case if you are accompanied by your family members (spouse and children under 18 years old), temporary residence permit can be processed for them, as soon as the permit of the main applicant has been approved. 

Terms

The term of the Company’s registration is 3-4 weeks. Thereafter You have the possibility to apply for processing of the temporary residence permit. The term of the temporary residence permit processing is equal to 90 days. Thus, the whole term for processing of temporary residence permit will not exceed 120 days.
